There was the usual backed-up traffic due to citizens dealing with a stop street up ahead in a law-abiding way. the taxi-driver chose, however, not to wait in line and drove left, off the road and onto a pedestrian walk-way. he drove at least a kilometer on this walk-way, causing pedestrians to have to get out his way and only got back onto the road right in front of the stop sign by pushing in at the very front of this long queue of cars.
